The Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities is an excellent place to work. The staff is a highly dedicated and specially trained group of people representing many professions. Many staff must meet certification or registration standards set by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and/or the Ohio Department of Education. Each professional also meets standards in his/her own particular field.

Most staff, including instructors, assistants, bus drivers, therapists, and others, provide direct services to children and adults who have mental retardation or other developmental disabilities. Employees are members of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) or the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS). In addition to an excellent retirement program, benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a prescription drug benefit, day care subsidies, fee waivers and other benefits associated with public service. Background checks and drug testing are required for employment.
