Description

Analyzes the business needs of the user department and designs, implements and maintains the network infrastructure to support those business needs; plans and maintains hardware, software, and cabling for the agency’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless access points, servers, power backup and conditioning, multi-user applications, and network wiring; creates and documents network plans, including new network additions, extensions or conversions; secures and protects the network infrastructure and network resources from unauthorized access; manages network access including creating, disabling and modifying user accounts; monitors data networks’ performance, troubleshoots and finds solutions to network issues and network performance; maintains and enhances the agency’s collaboration tools, including the electronic mail system Communicates with management to obtain approval of recommended solution; communicates and collaborate with other agency personnel regarding maintenance and construction projects that impact the technology infrastructure; anticipates and resolves communication issues between different technologies Manages vendor relations including key networking equipment and cabling infrastructure, vendors, program scripts and batch files Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in related field of study or equivalent; Valid Ohio Driver's License – Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: At least one of the following preferred: MCSE, A+, CNE; 3+ years designing, supporting and maintaining systems, servers and networks wired and wireless
